"TALK" Program:

The "TALK" program allows children (age 13 and under) to visit their incarcerated mothers weekly. Clinical staff and student interns set up "play stations" and assist mothers and their children as they read, play, and interact. Staff assist mothers in implementing some of the parenting skills learned in the parenting class (e.g., active listening, validating the children's feelings), and affirm the mothers whenever they observe them implementing these positive parenting practices.
