Parenting Class:

The 48-hour, attachment-based psychotherapeutic parent education class was designed specifically for incarcerated mothers. The curriculum includes information on factors that influence parenting behavior (highlighting parental attachment history), child growth and development, developmentally-appropriate child guidance skills, parenting children of different ages, creating safe and healthy home environments, parent development, and family unification.

The curriculum uses the most current research on child development which has, as its centerpiece, the critical importance of warm, sensitively-attuned, and responsive caregiving for the optimal development and well-being of children.
